KuneKune Sales Policy

Deposit

A Non-refundable deposit of $200 is required per piglet under full registration, and $50 for barrows. The deposit is applied toward your total cost, which is due in full at time of pickup or delivery.

Pickup

Piglets will not leave the farm prior to weaning, around 9 weeks of age. Pigs are to be picked up within 2 weeks of weaning date or when sold if buying an older pig. If more time is needed a daily feed and care fee of $3 a day will be applied to total cost. Communication is expected.

Transportation

We do offer transportation. Our transportation fee is based on mileage and if the distance is such that an overnight stay is required, the cost of the hotel room will added as well.

If buyer wishes to use a professional transport service, we do not guarantee the health of the pig and are not liable for anything that occurs once the pig has left our farm. Once the pig has left the farm, they are the full responsibility of the buyer.

If a professional transport service is used, the pig must be paid in full and amount cleared by bank before the pig leaves the farm. Animals traveling by professional service must have a CVI, of which the cost is the responsibility of the buyer. Any required testing will be part of this inspection and the responsibility of the buyer.

Standards

We reserve the right to cancel any sale prior to the pig leaving the farm if we feel that the home would not be suitable. If this happens, we will refund the deposit.

We reserve the right to set the price for any pig as we see fit. Our full registration pigs are typically $650 and barrows $200, but if we will confirm price on any pigs before deposits are placed.

We have the right to retain any piglet born on our farm for any reason, we have first pick from each litter.

We are very selective in our requirements for selling a piglet. We only sell our gilts and boars under AKKPS full registration. Any boarlings who do not meet our breeding criteria will be castrated around 5-6 weeks old and sold as AKKPS registered barrows. Any gilts who do not meet the criteria for a breeder will be grown out here.

We will not place a pig in a home where they are the only pig. Pigs require a friend on the same breed. Horses, goats, cows, etc, are not suitable companions. Barrows make great friends for both boars and gilts.

Sows or gilts over 12 months old and 150 lbs may be exposed to a boar for an extra fee. They are not guaranteed to be in pig. All information regarding exposure will be provided to you.

We do not guarantee growth rate, size, or reproduction of pig, as feed and environment, along with other situations, all play a part in it and we do not control any of that once the pig leaves the farm.

We are always available for mentorship and to answer any questions you may have. We also love to receive photos and updates on how pigs are doing.
